MPI Update

News from MPI HQ: A special year-end message from MPI President Pam Nicoletti.

Greetings, and welcome to the final MPI Paint Matters newsletter of 2024! Thank you for being on the journey with us as we continue to grow and develop MPI programs and services.

The MPI team has been especially busy this year, and we hope you’ve had a chance to visit the redesigned website at www.mpi.net. This year, the team focused on building better tools and resources to help you quickly find the information you’re looking for, including:

  • A simplified online store that makes it easier for you to find and purchase MPI products and services.
  • The newly launched Decision Tree™ tool that simplifies architectural and repainting specifications!
  • Coatings Corner—a space where you can share industry information and best practices from the industry, for the industry.

As we reflect on these accomplishments, we also want to let you know about big changes coming up in 2025. We’ll be hard at work to bring you:

  • A new version of the MPI Performance standards, and new performance standard sets. The current PDFs are getting an upgrade, and digital and printed versions of the standards will be available for the first time!
  • AMPPs QP9 standard for architectural and coatings contractors should be complete by the end of 2024, and MPI will be taking charge in 2025! We’re working to get the new version specified, so contractors can demonstrate their commitment to quality to asset owners.
  • We’re investing in the MPI training program and updating the content and delivery to an even higher industry standard. We heard your feedback, and we’re working on new ways to ensure digital credentialing and face-to-face training that verifies skillsets.
  • We’re also investing in our Green coatings standards, so you can trust they adhere to the latest VOC levels and green technology.
  • Keep your eye out for our new green webinar series! We’ll discuss the latest from USGBC, the evolving state of green standards, and what it looks like to adhere to those standards.
  • Finally, we’re expanding partnerships in Latin America, Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East to bring MPI to these rapidly growing regions.

MPI is committed to listening to your feedback and improving our products and services to meet your needs. We’re tracking your requests, responding in a timely manner, and learning what we can do to make your jobs easier.

The entire team at MPI thanks you for the opportunity to be your partner in painting and asset protection, and we look forward to working with you in the new year!
