A latex system is often used on poured in place and tilt-up concrete for residential, light industrial and commercial buildings. This system utilizes a high performance latex topcoat which is designed to provide two to three times the exterior durability of conventional latex topcoats. The alkali resistant primer portion of the system reduces or eliminates the efflorescence and degradation associated with coating even mildly alkaline exterior concrete surfaces.
This system is available in 2 gloss levels. The low sheen version reduces the visibility of surface irregularities commonly associated with concrete surfaces, while providing improved dirt retention compared to a flat finish. The semi-gloss is often used for accent striping and smoother surfaces and where a higher degree of cleansability is required. Coating of areas where standing or ponding water may occur (such as flat window sills) should be avoided. |
